Mindset Performance Coaching for Softball Players

Mindset Performance Coaching for Softball Players

The Riptide program was built to help players believe in themselves, bounce back from mistakes, and perform when it matters most. This isn’t about mechanics. It’s about what’s happening between the ears when pressure is on.

What is Riptide?

Riptide is a weekly, live, mindset training program for softball players, grouped by age so the conversation actually matches where the athlete is at. Format- Hour-long Zoom sessions, every Thursday • Groups: 10u (4–5pm), 12u (5–6pm), 14u (6–7pm), 16-18u (7–8pm) • Price: $150/month • Can’t make it live? Every session is recorded, so no one falls behind • Not a lecture: Sessions are interactive, with real exercises, discussion, and tools players actually use in games — not just talked about

Why Janelle

Janelle isn’t teaching mindset from a textbook — she’s lived it, at the highest level of the sport. A 4x PAC-12 Champion and 2x Women’s College World Series competitor at the University of Oregon, she went on to play for Team USA, winning World Cup gold and Pan American silver, before playing professionally. She studied psychology at Oregon, and for more than a decade she’s built Lindvall Softball into a trusted home for players and families. Riptide is the program she’s wanted to build the whole time. By the end, players aren’t just told to “be more confident” — they walk away with a real, repeatable process for handling pressure, mistakes, and everything in between on and off the field.

What She’ll Learn

Riptide runs on a three-month arc, each month building on the last. October — Confidence • Practice & Preparation • Adjustments (and How to Use Them) • Body Language • Make Failure Your Friend November — Resilience • Perspective • Make Training Harder • Reactions • Self-Regulate December — Performing Under Pressure • Have a Plan • Strategize • Visualize • Nervous vs. Exciting

The Futures App

Players will need an account on TFA which will allow us opportunity for group communication for zoom links, weekly exercises, supplemental educational videos, and inspirational content will be shared.

Testimonials

Janelle has changed my mental game in such a drastic way and has helped me grow tremendously, both as a player and as a person. She has taught me how to believe in myself, even when things aren’t going my way. She has shown me that in order to succeed and perform under pressure, you have to learn how to accept your mistakes, learn from your failures, and use setbacks as opportunities to grow. Her guidance has helped me become more confident and resilient, not only on the softball field but in life as well. Janelle has an incredible amount of belief in every single girl she coaches, and she constantly pushes us to see the potential in ourselves that we may not always see. She is an amazing coach, mentor, and role model for girls and young women, and I am so grateful for the impact she has had on me

Amaya Del Almo (Texas Tech)

Now I think more and have a plan when hitting not just guessing or just hoping I hit where I want. I remember when Janelle first told me how to read where a pitcher might pitch based on previous pitches or at bats I was at a high school tournament and I had hit very well. I feel like I used to to let mistakes have more of an impact on my next plays in the field or at bats now I still get frustrated but I have learned to use it in a way to help me rather then hurt me. I had had a teammate who was thinking about training I would tell them it’s the best decision they could make.
